Cannot call from abroad (China), but can surf internet, text

Hi I'm currently in China and has a small business plan, the company has just added many minutes to my phone so this shouldn't be an add on problem - I've checked my balance and there's sufficient minutest / texts / data.

I have perfect connection to 4G by China Unicom and can receive emails browse internet etc. I can also text UK numbers.

UK numbers can also call me, however whenever I try to call a UK or foreign number it directly beeps to disconnect??!! It seems I'm only able to call local Chinese numbers.

This is rather urgent and causing significant inconvenience, is there a way to solve this problem?

thanks

Good Morning @Lun

Thanks for coming to the Community! Smiley Happy

It sounds like it could be an issue with the network you're connected to or a problem with dial assist.

Have you tried doing a manual network selection and connecting to a different network?

Also what device are you using?

Thanks - Karen. Smiley Happy

Device is an iPhone 5s.

Connected to China Unicom. Have not tried manually select carrier.

Thanks for getting back to me @Lun

If you go to Settings > Phone > Scroll down to Dial Assist > Make sure this is Toggled On.

Then try making a call to a UK number.

If this still doesn't work go to Settings > Carrier > Do a manual search.

Let me know how it goes!
