Can’t make calls from Greece

Hi we’re on holiday in Kos, Greece and none of our three phones can make calls.  We can receive calls, text etc.  Can you please help?

Hi,

I am having the same problem as mentioned above. I.e. not being able to call from GREECE to UK even when typing 0044.

Could you give me some directions please?

Hi @Antonis and welcome to the community.

 

So I can try and help, please may I get you to perform a manual network search and choose a network other than what you are on.

 

iPhone: Go to Settings > Carrier and turn off Automatic. Wait until available networks appear, which might take two minutes. Tap the carrier that you want.

 

Android: Open the Settings menu >Tap More > Mobile Networks > Carrier and turn off Automatic. Wait until available networks appear, which might take two minutes. Tap the carrier that you want

 

Please, also can I get you to try and dial a friend or family member using the format of 00447********* and try using data.

Thanks for coming back.

I tried both steps you mentioned above with no success unfortunately.

Still says: "Unauthorised action" when I call somebody in UK using 0044 and having selected a network manually.

I am in Greece and having the same problem. So is my husband and daughter, we have tried the above. Please can someone help ASAP? Can’t even call EE, very frustrating.

fyi we have a business account.

Are all the numbers on one account?

 

Please check roaming is active by following these steps:

 

Log in to My EE > Menu > Manage device > Ensure 'Roaming abroad' and 'Call abroad and premium rate' is allowed.

Yes we are all under the same account.

 

When we try to go to the page to manage device, we do not have the option or any information at all about roaming. Please help!

Yes we are all on the same account. I’ve tried your suggestion, but I do not see a ‘roaming abroad’ option in manage device at all. Perhaps because it’s a business account.

It says all three phones should have unlimited calls in the EU. 

Please help as we are not very happy. Thanks - Sarah

Otherwise, I recommend getting in contact with business customer services from an alternative phone.

How would I be able to call?! What a silly suggestion. Will be complaining when I get home, this has been a bad experience.

I was suggesting calling from an alternative phone, @Sarahauthor. Such as a hotel phone or a friend/family member's phone, if available.

 

I'm sure once you get in contact with the business support team, they'll be able to take your complaint on board and help you get set up for future trips.
