I have a pay monthly max plan. Ive been assured that my phone will work while away in New Zealand. I even checked the day before I left. My phone is correctly set up.
Since I've been in New Zealand I've not been able to make a single text or call. Texts return as 'not delivered'. Calls give a recorded message that calls are barred. The Roaming provider in NZ is Spark and the recorded message says to contact them on *123. Ive never managed to get through to anyone on this number.
I eventually got hold of Spark NZ on an alternative number. They said they couldnt help me and to call my Uk provider. I told them I couldnt as my phone won't allow it. At that point the help from Spark NZ ceased and I'm not sure what to do now.
If on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before you left UK?
Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Otherwise try logging into your My EE account online & go to Menu / Manage Device / Roaming Abroad and also Call Abroad and Premium rate. They will show as ticked if roaming and calling abroad is activated. If they are not ticked, can you activate these settings?
