I hope you're having a brilliant time abroad.

 

Did you get a chance to check your roaming status in your My EE account?

 

If roaming is active, I recommend trying a manual network search:

 

Device type Steps
Apple Settings > Carrier > Toggle Automatic OFF
Android Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Operators > Tap OK
Windows Settings > Mobile Network > Network Selection > Tap on start manual search

Thank you very much for following this up.

I spoke to CS via skype from another device this morning and they activated
the service today.

Very helpful but i wish I'd known about this before - i had in fact checked
before i left UK and was assured that everything should work just the same
as in the UK.

However when i got to Belgium no service but i got a txt msg saying i had
run out of data. I tried to top up with no success and later found i had
lots of data so that msg was wrong. I also could not phone for help 150 or
the number to use from abroad. It was v frustrating.

After your reply i checked on my device that roaming was activated but
still no signal until CS did something to the system today.

So it was a huge rigmarole to get this sorted and i had no service just
when i needed it for navigating my route thru northern Europe.

Not happy. So EE stands for Except Europe??

Hi @Loren1

 

Did you activate roaming before you left the UK?

 

Can you try and log into your online account and establish if roaming and international calls are active? If not then can you activate them. If you cannot do this then you will need to call EE CS from another phone or use live chat during EE opening hours.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 07953 966 250 from any other phone.

EE standard opening hours are 8am to 9pm weekday, 8am to 8pm on weekends.
