I have an EE PAYG Sim Card and we are currently in Thailand.

We use WhatsApp for our contact with friends & family in the UK but will have to make a couple of short calls to Thai numbers.

Rather than buy a local Sim card, can I use my UK number as I have a Call Abroad Add On?  Not sure exactly what this means!

Advice, please, for an ageing non-techie!  Thanks.

Re: Add ons

@dande   The call abroad add on is for you to call international numbers when you are in the UK at a cheaper rate.  If you want to call a Thai number you’ll need credit on your account to pay for the call.

Hi @dande

Welcome to the community, I hope you're having a brilliant time in Thailand so far. 🙂

I see @XRaySpeX has answered your question here already.

How long are you away for?

Re: Add ons

Glad you're having a great time, @dande. 🙂

I've always wanted to go to Thailand, ever since I saw the movie The Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio. 🌴☀️

Hi again Chris,

Yes, The Beach was of course filmed on Hat Maya, the main beach of Phi Phi Leh Island, just off Phuket.

Not visited there.  Not surprisingly quite overrun with tourists!  We prefer quiter locations (at our age!)
