About roaming

Hello

I bought PAYG sim in London.

But I stay Germany now.

I can't activate in Germany when I use PAYG sim.

It seems that I can catch network.

But I can't connect internet.

How can I do?

I am going to London after 2 weeks.

Will you please change the sim card?

Re: About roaming

Hi @Jun1024,

Welcome to the EE Community.

Did you activate your SIM card before you travelled to Germany?

Your SIM card must be connected to the EE network in the UK to register and activate your pack.

Thanks

Re: About roaming

Hi @James_B

Thank you for your reply.

I know about activation.

But my freiend can activate same PAYG Sim in Germany.

He bought that Sim in UK same as me.

What is difference between me and him.

Re: About roaming

Hi @Jun1024,

You'll only be able to use your pay as you go SIM in Germany if it was activated by being connected to the EE network and used in the UK before you travelled.

Thanks

Re: About roaming

Thank you for your reply.

But in fact, I heard that I could activate in the EU when I bought  PAYG sim at a store in London.

Does it mean that the clerk's explanation was wrong?

I bought two PAYG sims according to the clerk's explanation.
So I wanted to use sim in Germany.

Could I change to a PAYG sim that can be used worldwide?

Re: About roaming

The SIM card can be used worldwide, @Jun1024.

As @James_B said though, it has to be activated and used in the UK first.

Re: About roaming

I understand what he is saying.

What I want to say is that the store clerk explained that the first activation could be done anywhere in the EU.

Or

I used another PYAG sim that was activated in London.

But it was expired in Germany. So I wanted to use new PYAG sim.

Is there a way to use old PYAG sim(Account no:XXXXXXXX) in Germany?

But I only have credit cards issued in Japan.

Re: About roaming

Sorry to hear that you may have been given different information from the store, @Jun1024.

A pay as you go SIM does have to be activated in the UK before going abroad.

When and why was did the original SIM expire? Was it just not used for a long time?

Re: About roaming

Because I bought a PAYG that will expire in 30 days.

Can I top up with a credit card issued in Japan?

We'll accept Visa, MasterCard and Maestro UK credit and debit cards as well as international credit or debit cards when you top up by phone, @Jun1024.
