I was told my existing PAYG credit of which i had a considerable amount would move into my new EE contract account when my number moved onto my new contract phone. How can i check if this has happened?

@neilmm If you can not see it on your contract account you then call customer services to check this.

It was sorted very quickly by having an online chat with a helper/advisor.
Very efficient and my credit will be added to my account around the time of my second bill.
