My phone is up for na upgrade and it has become apparent that it is a lot cheaper £10pm to upgrade through 3rd party than through EE.
I understand that by upgrading using 3rd party then you are able to keep the same number and in some circumstances you get a new sim and other circumstances you keep your current sim and transfer accross.
My question though is, if you are upgrading via a 3rd party, does this happen automatically or do I need to contact EE still and ask for my contract to be cancelled?
I'm very confused about how the process would work from purchasing an upgrade from 3rd party and what actions to take in order to ensure EE are aware and 3rd party transfer doesn't result in duplicating costs

@crouchy88 Your upgrade if through a 3rd party is just like upgrading through EE but the 3rd party sorts it out. You don’t need to cancel anything as long as it is a upgrade and not a new contract.
Please do do bear in mind that depending on what device it is as this device is not from EE there is s possibility that not all services will work. Ie WiFi calling and 4G calling.

In regards to the point you made about 4G & WIFI Calling, the phone is from mobiles.co.uk, however it does not show these services so I am unsure whether they do provide them. Would you know if this service is provided when signing up with this company?

I can confirm, you will have access to both WiFi and 4G Calling with your iPhone 8.
