RPI increase higher than other providers

Just wondering if anyone can explain why EE are charging 2.7% increase in line with RPI despite my O2 contract increasing 2.5% ? They both state they're using the ONS figures so I'm not sure why they would differ - hopefully someone can point out what I'm missing!

Re: RPI increase higher than other providers

EE is using December rate, published in January - 2.7%

O2 is using January rate, published in February - 2.5%

Also worthwhile to note these are the RPI rates, and not CPI rates which the Government refers to in their inflation figures (CPI usually lower).

Re: RPI increase higher than other providers

Are they both basing it on the same month's RPI increase? EE used Jan. 2019.

@chistery - We take a consistent approach every year and use the RPI rate for December published by the ONS in January to calculate any price rises.
