New nano SIM Card taking too long to activate

Hi there. I upgraded my phone on Sunday but I realised that I haven't been informed about the different sim needed for my new Samsung s7 edge. I headed to my nearest ee store to get a new sim. It's been almost 24 hours since the new nano sim has been put in. Now, both of my phones have been showing 'Emergency calls only'. I really need to have access to calls, not only WiFi based services. And please don't tell me to call customer services or text 150 because I have no landline or other mobile phones so my only option is to live chat/post on forum. I'd appreciate any help you can give me!  Thanks!

Re: New nano SIM Card taking too long to activate

Hi @QueenOfArda,

Welcome to the EE Community.

SIM cards can take up to 24 hours to activate.

Is it working yet?

If not, have you tried restarting your phone?

Thanks

Hi James, thanks for getting in touch. Yes, I restart it every hour or so to see if has activated but no luck so far. Still no service on both phones.

Hi @QueenOfArda,

What time did you insert the SIM card yesterday?

Thanks

Re: New nano SIM Card taking too long to activate

Must have been around 1 pm yesterday. So almost 24 hours. I'm assuming it's not a very strict 24 hour rule? Can it take longer? Thanks
