@Maccapacca1   You’ve always been able to end your current contract with any network,  but your still required to pay off the remaining term of that contract as you agreed to pay the set fee each month until the minimum term.  Ending a contract just means you have to pay the rest of the contract in full minus 20% of what you would of paid if you seen out that contract.    

The new ruling doesn’t get you out of a contract for nothing.
