I want to cancel my contract and take out a new one, transferring my number.

I am due an upgrade but they are unable to match a deal I have found elsewhere. I have to cancel my contract then take up the new one, both with EE. I want to transfer my number over to my new contract but EE said this could not be done. Is there any way I can keep my old number.

Yes, by 1st porting it out to another network's PAYG & then back to EE.

You can indeed get an EE PAYG SIM but EE won't transfer your no. between contracts via their own PAYG.

Any phone you bought from EE will be locked to EE.
