You only have a cooling off period if you buy online it over the phone.

If you purchase a device over the phone with us or on our EE Shop online, you have 14 days from when you receive your device, mobile broadband, tablet or other equipment to tell us you've changed your mind and request a return.

Many thanks but do you know about if I purchased in an EE shop I have been told you have no ‘cooling off’ period

Our in store returns policy is below for you 🙂
If you bought your device in one of our stores and you’re experiencing coverage issues, please bring your device back to us within the first 14 days of your contract starting, so we can help you with this.
Unfortunately, we can’t offer in-store returns for the following:
EE home broadband
Extra services added to your account after joining or upgrading
Insurance services (where separate insurance terms will apply)
If your product or service was bought from a third-party company you'll need to contact them directly to arrange a return.
