Credit check

Hi, I have recently applied through a third party website for a contract with EE. I have been told twice that the application has been cancelled due to a failed credit check. I have checked my credit score and been in contact with Experian and there is nothing that they can see on their end as to why it has been declined. Would you be able to provide further information as to why?

Re: Credit check

@makhtar : You could phone EE & ask but they are not obliged to tell you.

There's more than 1 Credit Agency & EE might be using others.

Are you on the Electorial Roll? Have you a Credit Card for more than 6 months? These are always good for your credit history,

Re: Credit check

There's a special section in hell for credit agencies.

Can you see the search at any of the free services that provide info? It could be just that someone mistyped your address and it didn't match anything, so it rejected you. Signing up direct with EE over the phone may be worth a try, but then three hard checks on your credit report will not be good for future credit either.

EE won't tell you why you failed, as it would allow people to try and fool the system and try again. The best you can do is make sure all your details are correct, you're on the electoral roll, had have a UK Bank account for a while, haven't moved recently, etc.

Re: Credit check

Hi @makhtar

Applying for mobile contracts considerably impacts your credit rating, so if you apply again I suggest you wait 6 months.

Thanks
