Charged for an iPhone unlock after 18 months old

I’ve just read:

https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/getting-started-and-upgrading/unlock-your-phone/unlock-a-ee-device-to...

It states that iPhones are unlocked automatically 18 months after sale (if sold after Sept 2015). I didn’t know this and applied to have my iPhone unlocked back in July, when my iPhone was 22 months old.

EE proceeded to charge me the standard unlock fee. There was clearly a mistake at both sides here. EE’s unlock system shouldn’t have charged me and I shouldn’t have applied to have it unlocked, as it should already have been unlocked.

How do I go about getting refunded the unlock fee?

Good Morning @mcnaugha

Thanks for coming back to the community.

Did you purchase your iPhone direct from EE?

Speak soon, Leanne 🙂

Thanks @mcnaugha

If you give our customer service team a call on either 150 from an EE phone or 0800 079 8586 from another phone.

They will be able to get this looked into for you.

Thanks, Leanne 🙂
