My 24 month contract has just ended and I want to cancel it. I am currently living in China so I don't have a way to visit a store and my sim can't make international calls. How do I cancel my contact? Do I just cancel the direct debit from my bank? Everything has been paid up to date... just really lost on how to cancel it. EE seem to make it very difficult to try and cancel if you can call them...

No, don't just cancel your direct debit as doing that will not cancel your EE account.
You either need to speak to them, where I suggest you use Skype and ring their freephone number (+44 800 956 6000) which won't cost you anything from anywhere in the World using Skype (you don't even need any Skype credit to ring freephone numbers) or write a letter to them.
