@manseljill: No, EE don't allow payment holidays. You either keep paying for it or cancel it & pay the early termination fee of the rest of the contract term less 20%.

Just to add, you can also use your phone in Australia, see our EE Roaming charges for Australia to see if they would be suitable for you.

 

If you do decide to use your phone text ROAMING to 150 before you go to make sure you're set up to use your phone abroad.
