Annual upgrade with damaged phone

Hello. I’m on an annual upgrade plan with an iPhone 7. The screen is chipped at the bottom. I’d like to swap the phone when the next iPhone comes out. Is it just a straight £100 charge for the damaged screen or can I get the screen repaired/ phone swapped  through a 3rd party insurance company? Will EE accept the new phone as long as it’s the exact same model?

Hello @Coney1982 the debice must be the same one EE gave to you anf they can check by the IMEI number of the device.

EE will advise you of the exact costs when you take the device in to be inspected before upgrading but yes minor-major damage is usually charged at £100:

Re: Annual upgrade with damaged phone

Hi @Coney1982 and welcome to the community.

If you handset is damaged it would be a £100 charge, if you have a repair done via a non authorised repairer you could be looking at a charge of up to £240.

Hope this helps,

Nice one thank you! I’ve phoned my local EE store and they’ve told me not to get the phone repaired.
