Am I able to upgrade early to a cheaper price plan?

I took out my £48 a month IPhone 6s Plus contact as an upgrade in July 2017. I took out the contract while I was in a better financial state. The contract is in my mother’s name. EE where so kind in upping my plan to 8GB data at no extra cost due to me being in and out of psychiatric hospitals for weeks to months without WiFi, I have Bipolar and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I was so grateful for that kind gesture. I have for a while now always been late on my payments as I am struggling to afford the cost due to having to leave my work. And the late payments are affecting my mums credit. I am asking if anyone knows if it is possible to upgrade early to a new phone with a lesser price plan but I still want to stay with EE. Thank you for any help. X

If you're struggling to pay the bills at the moment please  get in touch with us and speak to our specialist collections team, we may need to speak to your Mum with the account being in her name.

No, you cannot downgrade your price plan without paying off the rest of your contract less VAT. Also you may have difficulty taking a new contract with EE if you have a history of late payments.
