Ordered the wrong Pack I think, how do these packs work?

Hi all

I needed a spare mobile phone with £10 credit. I ordered this:

shop.ee.co.uk/mobile-phones/pay-as-you-go/mobiwire-pictor-payg/details

The total was £10.79. The pack I selected was the default data pack. I did this by mistake.

I also haven't received a confirmation or order number, as the phone was out of stock but available to order.

I don't understand how these packs work. If I select the £10 pack does that mean I get £10.00 in credit and the minutes and so on, or does it mean that I just get the minutes?

Can I change this to credit only, so no pack like real Pay As You Go?

If I receive the phone and do the following:

STOP PACK to 150

Will it gives me my £10.79 or £10.00 as credit?

Re: Ordered the wrong Pack I think, how do these packs work?

The EE Shop is under maintenance at the mo', so I can't see exactly what you ordered but going by Google & other sellers, I think you bought:

  1. Mobiwire handset @ 79p.
  2. PAYG SIM included.
  3. PAYG Top-up @ £10.
  4. Pre-installed £10 data pack primed to be bought with the £10 credit.

All EE PAYG SIMs come primed with a recurring Pack of allowances ready to bought out of your PAYG credit as soon as it is sufficient.

Text STOP PACK to 150 as soon as you get it & you can use the SIM as normal PAYG at standard per-unit rates.

Make sure you make a chargeable call or text or top-up at least once every 6 months to keep it active.

Re: Ordered the wrong Pack I think, how do these packs work?

That is exactly what I purchased, but I'd like to use the credit as normal £10.00 and not a pack.

Will I get £10.00 as top up credit or £10.79?

So, as soon as sim comes, turn off data, and put it in and TEXT STOP PACK to 150? This will disable the pack and give me the credit of £10.00 or £10.79?

Re: Ordered the wrong Pack I think, how do these packs work?

Yes, you'll have £10 credit. The 79p has gone to buy the handset. EE makes their money from your top-ups.

Turning data ON or OFF has nowt to do with it.

Re: Ordered the wrong Pack I think, how do these packs work?

Do you recommend me doing it with my mobile data off so no data is used? As it said on the site the pack activates as soon as you use data, send text or use calls...

If I send the text to 150 doesn't that count towards texts and how do I make sure it is done?

Re: Ordered the wrong Pack I think, how do these packs work?

Really, mobile data makes no diff, but turn it off anyway just for peace of mind.

Texts to 150 are free & therefore don't count.

Re: Ordered the wrong Pack I think, how do these packs work?

Thanks,

and is there a way to confirm that the STOP PACK to 150 has worked? It also says on this page:

https://ee.co.uk/help/my-account/pay-as-you-go/pay-as-you-go-packs-getting-started

"

You can stop a new pack from starting through My EE on ee.co.uk or the My EE app. Your current pack will continue until it ends or until all the allowances are used up.

  1. Log in to My EE
  2. Click Pack and add-ons in the menu
  3. Under Next pack, click CHANGE or REMOVE.

"

Once I get the sim, can I add it to My EE account and then do it through there? OR is it better to do it via text?

Re: Ordered the wrong Pack I think, how do these packs work?

STOP PACK will respond. After doing it text AL to 150 to confirm pack has gone

Texting is quicker and more immediate

Re: Ordered the wrong Pack I think, how do these packs work?

Now that the Shop site is back up, I can see that the default data pack is only £1. So even if the STOP PACK doesn't get in quick enough you'll still have £9 PAYG credit to use after the pack expires in 7 days.
