Buying a Pay as you go Phone, can you use your Pay Monthly Sim in this?

Hi,

I am an EE pay monthly customer, but my contract phone (google pixel 3) is now not working well and I am not ready to upgrade, as new phones are coming out end of this year and hoping there will be a system update for android 10 soon.

I was thinking to buy a Pay As You Go Samsing A20e but its comes with a sim and 30day pack.

Can I just use the £20 credit on it, then put in my Pay Monthly simcard? I do not need the PAYG sim after.

Would be great help.

Regards, Val.
