watch has been working as it should after all the initial hassle. Ombudsman decided in my favor and compensation was paid. It's a shame that it had to go to the ombudsman but that's EE for you.

I got it sorted after a long time and a replacement watch. I think the first watch must have been faulty and I think because they tried to fix the problem so many times there were too many different esims in the watch! look at my posts and you will see the problems I had. Maybe the same problem with your watch i.e that they have to clear the esims before being able to reset it? I did buy the watch from EE though so perhaps they were more keen to sort the problem out for me, even though I had to refer it to the ombudsman and got compensation (this is not your case). I did even consider cancelling and just using one with just bluetooth. All was well after the fix and working as it should.

Its all a bit of a shambles really and a scam because at the moment Im
going through a nightmare trying to get them to activate my watch with my
plan because my watch was not bought from them although it has an EE sim.
I think its out of order as if I had bought a watch from them this means
would I be able to pass it on to someone else for them to use! if I decided
to sell it? Im quite disgusted that they seem to offer no support for their
own customers despite whether the device is purchased from themselves or
