150 Scam SMS

**Be Aware**

Today I've received what appears to be a scam SMS from 150:

'There was an issue processing your bill.  We're diverting outgoing calls and data to our payment line.  Login to update billing information - login-id.co.uk'

Identified immediately as a 'threat' when scanned with a virus-checker.

Re: 150 Scam SMS

Having looked up the details of which registry setup the domain I would suggest you complete their online complaint form https://publicdomainregistry.com/report-abuse-complain/ about the newly registered domain and if you still have it a snapshot of the message received.

Ive reported such phishing domains before to those who have registered domains on behalf of the phishing ones eg this one you mentioned as login-id.co.uk and they have been suspended pretty quickly

Re: 150 Scam SMS

Hi @sarahg70

If you had searched you would see that this is a common text message. EE have a guide to help customers,  HOW TO AVOID AND PREVENT SPAM, PHISHING AND FRAUD

How do I report spam messages?

Getting unwanted calls and texts? You can report them quickly and easily.

EE does not condone the sending of unsolicited commercial text messages without the recipient's consent. It’s unlawful business practice (and, obviously, quite irritating).

Reporting spam to EE:

To help keep these intrusive messages away, forward the message (including the phone number) to 7726. You can also forward voice spam calls, by sending voice spam and the number which called to 7726(letters S.P.A.M on your keypad).

This will enable us to take early action to remove the numbers which are generating the spam from our network and help us shut down the spammers.

If you want to stop all unsolicited sales or marketing calls, sign up to the Telephone Preference Service by textingTPSfollowed by your email address to85095(free of charge) or calling0207 291 3320.

You can also report instances of spam to theInformation Commissioner’s Office or call them on0303 123 1113.

Thanks

Re: 150 Scam SMS

If you receive any texts or emails that don’t look or sound right, report them then delete them. It’s always safer to just call the number of the company yourself rather than clicking on any links or responding.  If you are able to do do, block the number to prevent any further texts.

Browsers are already recognising this as a deceptive site & are blocking it.
