If i dont upgrade, shouldnt my monthly cost go down

My partner was due an upgrade in March but isnt that bothered about upgrading. If he keeps his old phone, wouldnt he have paid for the phone by now so should just be paying for the plan?

Not if he stays on his existing phone contract. He committed to paying the same charge + annual increases for the life of the contract. However if he does upgrade to a SIM-Only contract his monthly charges should go down drastically.

Hi @jaynelane22

No the cost of your tariff doesn't go down, in fact it might go up if you have any discounts which expire when your contract ends.

Ofcom have said they are looking into this issue, which is unfair to customers.

Thanks
