I'm pretty certain that if your balance is zero, before your bill date, no attempt will be made.

@san3790 : If you paid you bill on or after your billing date, the date your bill is posted online, your DD will still be attempted to be taken. You need to pay before the bill is posted for the payment to be credited against the bill.

I have paid my bill today it’s due on or around the 23rd but I decided to pay it early. Do I need to call my bank to cancel the direct debit or do I need to call EE customer service because I don’t want them to attempt to take another payment out if I’ve already made it early.

You should be fine, as its before your billing date. So EE should not try to take a payment as you accound will be zero.
Whatever you do, DO NOT cancel your direct debit, as the payment next month would not be able to be took.

Why did you pay it early direct when you knew the DD was coming up?
When was you bill available in your MyEE? That is your billing date. There's no stopping the DD once that's happened. The DD will have already been put in process.

@Fatboy71 : I think the OP is mixing up billing date & paymant date, usually 7 - 10 days later.

I just thought I’d pay it earlier as I’m going away soon and I didn’t know if I’d have funds in my account because I don’t get paid till end of March. Maybe il call EE and see what they say.
thanks anyway!
