I have a 4GEE plan with unlimited texts and calls to UK numbers (with obvious exceptions - 08 numbers etc). I am being charged outside of plan for texts to a UK mobile number (which are not excluded from the plan). Why is this?
If you've noticed some charges outside of your allowances, and the mobile number in question appears to be a UK number, it's possible the number belongs to a MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operators). MVNOs are mobile operators that do not have their own network infrastructure and use a mobile network operator (MNO) like EE or O2 to provide a network for their customers.
4GEE price plans include most MVNOs, including the most popular (Lyca & Lebara Mobile for example). There are a small number of MVNO services that are not included in the allowances of any price plans and will be charged at the standard UK mobile rate for your price plan.
