Why does the ee app need fingerprint, password AND pin to log in?

Does the EE app REALLY require more security than the NSA headquarters? Has anyone ever questioned this with EE, or is there a way to change it? I've set mine up so it seems it shouldn't need the password as well, but it does...

Hello there @philwilson1976

Thanks for posting on the community.

If you log into your My EE app and go to Menu > Settings > Logging in.

Do you have Use PIN and Use Touch ID activated?

Thanks, Leanne.

Hi Leanne,

Thanks for replying. Yes - I have both options checked, but STILL get asked for my password when logging on. 🙄

Hi @philwilson1976

Thanks for coming back to me.

Can you select only the one you want to use and see if this helps.

Thanks 🙂

@philwilson1976 Go to settings>Passwords and Touch ID> Enter your password and make sure that under apps that Touch ID is enabled for my EE.

It seems turning OFF the pin option also turns OFF the fingerprint option, however when I turned it back on, closed and reopened the app, the famous "microsoft solution" worked and all seems dandy now. Thanks!

Re: Why does the ee app need fingerprint, password AND pin to log in?

Makes me think of my fav joke.

3 engineers (systems, hardware & software) are driving a car across a bridge when it breaks down. Sys engineer says "maybe there's an issue with the bridge?" HW engineer says "no, it must be the car...?" SW engineer says "Why don't we just get out, and get back in!"

Works everytime... Thanks for your help!
