Just changed ownership from my mum to me as she had originally taken out contract for me. When will my details update online and will same log on details work or will I need to re-register?

Change of ownership changes at the next billing cycle.
So whenever the next bill is due.
Log in details should be the same.

Hello there @SandraCarpenter.
The old details for the My EE account will be removed so you can set up a new one with your information 🙂
This should have been done for you when the change of ownership was completed by customer service.
Can you still log in with the old details?
