Unable to upgrade early online

Whenever I select upgrade now from the upgrades section of my EE tries to take me to shop ee but then it says ‘your account is closed’ To get the best prices you need to be an EE customer. This is a persistent problem and is very annoying. I have been a pay monthly customer for years and have an active log in to my EE
