Your ISP history?

If memory serves:

  • CompuServe was my first dial up Internet, then
  • AOL dial up, then
  • Freeserve dial up, then
  • BT ISDN (very expensive) then back to
  • AOL for my first taste of true 512k broadband. I used the "green frog" speedtouch modem!
  • Jumped ship when AOL sold out to talk talk to O2/BE, they were sold to Sky. I've stayed with Sky ever since.

Does anyone remember the CD's Internet providers used to send out? If you're older you will remember the 3.5 inch floppy disks 🤓

Re: Your ISP history?

Omg I remember the floppy discs. Your showing my age now @Northerner

I used to try and mask the sound dial up made so my dad didn't know I was going into the internet lol.

We had evening and weekends only internet where it was a set price and wouldn't work before 5pm during week.

Then it would cut off when my dad would receive a business call on landline because he refused to get a second line.
