Resolving lag when gaming online

Hi,

 

Over the past month or so I've been experiencing a lot of lag when using my PS4 online. I've been through many troubleshooting steps: incl. changing to a wired connection, opening ports on my router etc. but continue to experience issues. Running traceroutes and path ping on my desktop show that there are issues with my connectivity but I'm not sure what to do to sort these things out.

Does anyone have a solution or any tips of what to do/who to contact next? I've already spoken to an EE advisor and an EA technical advisor on the phone and neither seemed to know what was going on...

My router is Bright Box 2, a couple of years old now.

Internet is perfectly good otherwise. It's only gaming that's an issue..
