I've waited for 3 hours and it still does not work
I've chnaged my password for my fsmail account yet again, and i'll wait for a few hours before it give it another go. I'm convinced that this is related to the account lock issue, and maybe my account has not fully been unlocked, which means that emails work but the pop side does not. It took them 3 unlock attempts before I could actually log in today. Ray
I don't seem to be able to attach a screen shot.
email address is firstname.lastname@example.org - password matches webmail
Username same as email address.
any ideas - BTW this is not solved!

Hello @Ratsoft58 were you able to successfully set up the account using your mobiles or PCs mail app/program? This will help to confirm whether the fault is with your Fsmail account or your Gmail account. The settings are the same you are using for the Gmail import. SMTP is:
Outgoing SMTP Mail Server: pop.orangehome.co.uk
SMTP Username: email@example.com
SMTP Password: Webmail password
SMTP Server Port: 25 (or 587)
Use SSL: No

If you choose Port 587, which will work from any network unlike Port 25. you must tick that it needs authentication. See What Data do you Need to Transfer your Orange Emails to Another Provider .

@XRaySpeX that option is not available for a lot of mobile devices. I have never had to do that using an Apple, Android or Windows device.

OK, so it may ask "Requires Sign-In" on some mobiles. Same idea! You can't legislate for the terminology of every manufacturer & OS :smileywink:.

I have asked @Ratsoft58 what device they would be using and more specific assistance can be given once that has been confirmed.

This conversation has gone a little off track. I'm still unable to transfer my emails out to either Gmail or mail.com as when the external provider tries to conncet it is not allowerd and gets a refused connection message that I cannot attach a screen shot of. My details are entered as firstname.lastname@example.org the password matches, the server name is pop.orangehome.co.uk and the port is 110 and the server user name is also as email@example.com - really concerned as tomorrow is teh last day and I've a few years of emails to get off. Real shame that orange email is closing.

I've an fsmail.net account and I also cannot spot where the pop3 password setting is hiding either - if the webmail password is different from the pop3 password then how can I see what it is? This is all getting far too complicated!

Hello @Ratsoft58 POP passwords are for orange.net accounts only you should be using your normal webmail password for an Fsmail account.
To diagnose whether the fault is with your Gmail or Fsmail account please reply in this thread only letting me know what phone you have and I will help you to set up and test the account using your phones mail app. 🙂

I have no idea where the idea that I want to use my phone for me emails has come from. I just need access to export my emails out, as th eservice closes tomorrow

Hello @Ratsoft58 the idea is to set up the Fsmail account using your phone so we can test if it is working over POP3 at all or not (POP3 is how Gmail imports the emails). This will confirm if the fault is with Fsmail or Gmail.
If you do not want to then your only other option is to call the specialist closure team on 0800 079 0232 from 8am tomorrow who may be able to check the account for you. 🙂
