Does the £19.99 20GB deal increase to £34.99 after 12months?

Hi

I was just wondering if the £19.99 sim only deal with 20GB of data stays at that price after the 12 months +RPI adjustments or does it increase back to the normal £34.99 price?

Thanks in advance

Hi @Ben470595,

Welcome to the EE Community.

Yes, your discount will roll on until you next upgrade your plan.

Thanks

No, £19.99 is the current offer price for this plan. Once you're on it the monthly fee will continue other than the annual RPI increases. The 12-months is just the min. contract term. It then goes onto a rolling month basis.

Re: Does the £19.99 20GB deal increase to £34.99 after 12months?

I signed up for the very same deal on Saturday and also I had a voucher code that I entered when I was checking out to reduce it down to £16.99 per month.

Anyway, I received a text from EE about my order on Sunday and a telephone number which I had to call (just to verify a few details before my order could be processed).

When I was speaking to the lady at EE, she went through what I would get (unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, 20 GB data).

She also told me that I would see these discounts on my bill every month:

Usually tariff cost £34.99-

                               £15.00

                               = £19.99

Then a further discount of £3 for the voucher code I had to take the price down to £16.99.

She said I would see these discounts on my bill every month, for the duration of the contract. From this I assumed that after 12 months the discounts would run out, and the price would go back up to £34.99 per month (as this is what this sim only tariff is usually priced at).

I agree with @XRaySpeX  and I thought this was correct and I have also seen the same thing mentioned on other threads too, so perhaps the EE customer service agent was incorrect with what she told me.

No, she's not wrong. the 12-months isn't the duration of the contract but just its minimum duration. The duration of the contract is open-ended & is until you decide to cancel it by giving notice or upgrade it.

Hi @XRaySpeX

So will the price remain the same after 12 months? (I realise it will go up slightly with RPI)

I would be looking at remaining on it, unless I could get a better deal after the 12 months was up.
