router

I have fibre boradband which I access with a brightbox wifi router. I have had it for 18 months with full access from every room of my 55sq/m flat. In the last two weeks, I can only connect in the room where the router is. Elsewhere, on my phne and tablet it shows I'm connected but there is no internet access. I have tried t reboot the router but nothing has changed. I haven't changed the position of the router and I cannt do it as there is only one phone plug

Re: router

What model is this router? How is it connected to the Brightbox? Have you set it up as a wireless extender? How? Which Brighrbox have you, the 1 or the 2?

You need explain more your arrangement for us to understand what you are getting at.

Re: router

Sorry, I misread that you had a 2nd router Smiley Embarassed.

If you would like help with your BB speed or connection issues, please would you carry out the following steps for starters, which will enable us to diagnose the problem and advise you further:

1. Post your full router stats. For a BrightBox: login and go to Advanced Settings/ System/ DSL Status. Also post 'Time Connected:' from initial Status page. Full router stats are key to any speed & connection issues.

2. Try both a wired & wireless speedtest here http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html and copy to here just the "Link to this result:" link.

3. What exchange are you connected to? If you don't know use: http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange_search and post the URL of your exchange page.

Re: router

I'm still waiting for the wired & wireless speedtest results from you as it would seem to be a wireless issue.

Re: router

I know but in point 2. I'm asking for TWO speedtest links & which is which. This is a WiFi issue & so we must investigate your WiFi performance.

Re: router

The option is whether you connect your PC from which you are running the speedtest to the router wired or wireless.

Re: router

In which case all I can say is that your BB connection is fine but the wireless variable. Wireless can be unreliable.

Re: router

Anything change internally 2 weeks ago?

When these devices lose connection do they disappear from the currently connected list in the router?
