gateway unreachable for CCTV

Hi,

I am trying to connect a Yeskamo CCTV system to my EE hub.

I have followed a set of instructions like this.  Although it is a different brand of NVR it works exactly the same.  When I connect the cable to the WAN port I have 1 green and 1 orange light (Blinking).  There are no issues with the cable, as I have tested it.

I have tried to add a reserved IP for the NVR, but I am still getting the message of gateway unreachable.  Does anyone know of anything different I should try?

Re: gateway unreachable for CCTV

Well, then, for starters, I'd correct those 2 values & see if it connects. Cf. the corresponding values in the EE router.

I would have liked to have seen the R-hand Connection Type column of Connected Devices for any with "LANn".

Re: gateway unreachable for CCTV

Having connected up the CCTV to the router, what does it say after you log into the router:

  • on the Advanced Settings / Broadband / Internet page?
  • on the Advanced Settings / My Network page?

Obscure your names & numbers in the BB Username but post the 1st 2 parts of the IP addy.

Re: gateway unreachable for CCTV

Ah, I thought you had an EE Smart Hub but that's a Brightbox.

What does it say in the Currently Connected Devices section on the initial Status page?

Obscure the Mac Addy column if you can.

P.S. Had you tried to post pix with personal info the Mods would not have approved them.

Re: gateway unreachable for CCTV

I'm not at home at the moment, so cant post a picture, but will do later if required.  Last night when I looked there were lots of connected devices such as phones/PS4/TV, but not the NVR, which is why I added it as a reserved IP.  Is that not correct?

Re: gateway unreachable for CCTV

Post the Network Setup page of the CCTV.

I don't understand why those instructions you gave tell you to enable the DHCP of the device when it's already told you to enable the DHCP of the router.

Hi

Here is a shot of the setup page where you can add the network.

And here is a picture of the error message on the "Fast setup" page.

Re: gateway unreachable for CCTV

Does this device have Net connection of its own other than thro' your BB router? I don't understand why it has a DHCP of its own like it's a router. What-on-earth other devices would it be issuing IPs for?

Why is subnet mask 255.255.0.0 & not 255.255.255.0?

Shouldn't MTU be 1492?

I'm still waiting for the Currently Connected Devices section.

Re: gateway unreachable for CCTV

There are 4 wireless cameras on this system, so the NVR is apparently a router for the signal.

Here is a link to the product if that is any help.

And here is a list of the connected devices.  I have not included the MAC address column as requested.

And in answer to these questions - I have no idea.

Re: gateway unreachable for CCTV

XRaySpeX,

It was the MTU that was the issue.  I would really like to express my gratitude and appreciation for you taking the time to help me, a complete stranger.  It is people like you who really make the internet a wonderful place.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend, and if there is ever anything I can do to repay the favour then I would love to do so.

Kind regards
