I have heard that some manufacturers are providing patches/upgrades to combat KRACK. Is it intended to issue one for Brightbox?

EE are looking into it to see if any is necessary. It could be weeks yet if at all.
As the discoverer of this vulnerability said "For ordinary home users, your priority should be updating clients such as laptops and smartphones."

Can i ask if Router updates on Brightbox 2 get rolled out automatically or do they always require manual install? not been with EE Broadband very long, so i'm Unfamiliar with the update process.

They are auto updated but v. rarely.
