Re: Smart hub flashing aqua

@Rjm74   Have you tried turning it off for 30+ seconds then restarting the router ?   Also make sure the Ethernet cable is fitted correctly in the back on the router and the wall socket.

Re: Smart hub flashing aqua

@Rjm74   Do you by any chance have a spare Ethernet cable ?  As the flashing aqua light is stating the broadband cable is not fitted correctly.

Re: Smart hub flashing aqua

@Chris_B : Flashing aqua means that the BB is not connected over the cable from the phone socket; nowt to do with the Ethernet side of things.

Re: Smart hub flashing aqua

@Rjm74 : Welcome to EE's Home Broadband Forum.

Have you just joined EE BB or were you already with EE BB?

What does it say after you log into the router:

  • For a BrightBox: in the Internet section on the initial Status page or
  • For a Smart Hub: on the Advanced Settings / Broadband / Internet page?

Obscure your names & numbers in the BB Username but post the 1st 2 parts of the IP addy. This will tell us at which stage EE have got to.

Is this for ADSL BB or Fibre? Which router, BrightBox 1 or 2 or Smart Hub?

Does the phone work? Do you get a dial tone? Does it announce your correct no. when you dial 1470 17070?

Re: Smart hub flashing aqua

@Chris_B : RJ11 for connecting DSL socket to router. RJ45 is Ethernet. These are really the names of the connectors at the ends of cables.

Re: Smart hub flashing aqua

@XRaySpeX   But what’s the cable called.  The plug at the end is not used to Identify the cable and you know this.

Re: Smart hub flashing aqua

@Chris_B : I dunno; look it up. Everybody looks at the plugs to id them & calls them RJ11 cables..

Re: Smart hub flashing aqua

@XRaySpeX   But no one calls the cable by the ID of the plug do they. And I’m not talking about people who work within IT.  I’m talking about end users.
