Slow IP Profile

Hi, steadily over 18 months my sync speed and IP profile has dropped. Initially I was getting 80/20 full sync and 75 on BT download test.

fast forward and my sync speed on the router is 63/20. But download speed test are 50. According to BTW my ip profile is set to 51.

According to BT wholesales availability checker I get the following;

VDSL Range A (Clean)8070.9201965.4AvailableAvailable--
VDSL Range B (Impacted)8068.6201962.6AvailableAvailable--

If I go to order broadband I get a min guaranteed speed of 63?

Re: Slow IP Profile

Welcome to EE's Home Broadband Forum.

You can't trust the BT Speedchecker. How can Achieved Speed 51.76 Meg be > Max Achievable Speed 51.6 Meg?

If you would like help with your BB speed or connection issues, please would you carry out the following steps for starters, which will enable us to diagnose the problem and advise you further. Do not restart your router to do these tests:

1. Post your full router stats.

For a BrightBox: login and go to Advanced Settings/ System/ DSL Status. Also post 'System Uptime' from top of System Log page.

For a SmartHub: login and go to Advanced Settings/ Technical Log/ Information.

Full router stats are key to any speed & connection issues.

2. Try a wired speedtest, using an Ethernet cable supplied with the router, here http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html . Click on the "Results Page" button at the bottom of the graph you first see and then copy to here just the "Link to this result:" link that you see below the next main graph.

3. What exchange are you connected to? If you don't know use: http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange_search and post the URL of your exchange page.

@ciscosurplus

Do you use the supplied router or have you tried a third party one?

Thanks

Re: Slow IP Profile

You're only getting 59.5 Meg sync. It could be due to cross talk as more neighbours join your cab. Are you sure the neighbours you quoted as getting 80/20 Meg are on the same cab & are actually getting that or is that just the BTw estimates for them as it is for you?

What did EE quote as your Guaranteed Min Speed when you joined up? You'll find this in your MyEE for BB.
