@denishowe : Port Forwarding works fine with my EE SH Firmware version: v0.00.24.06190-EE.
If you already have a BrightBox 2 you don't need to replace it with the EE SH on FTTC. In fact, the EE SH is far weaker functionally than the BB2.

Thanks, so it's not the firmware. I have "Board version 01". My BrightBox is a v1 and stopped working when they switched me to fibre.
EE Support insisted they don't support port forwarding, even though it was working perfectly on the BrightBox. They eventually grudgingly offered to send me a replacement router but didn't think it would make any difference.

How embarrassing. It was the gateway setting on the device I was trying to port forward to that was wrong, not a problem with the router at all.
With any network connection problem, always think about the reverse route!
