I have a solid orange broadband light on my bright box router.

I have had EE fibre for years with no complaints.  Since i have had it i have had a solid Orange broadband indicator light on my router.  In the past this hasnt seemed to impact my service so j have left it.  However, seens upgrading my tv service to sky q, have had a lot of messages stating "you are experiencing broadband issues" and my content isnt loading.  As everything else is working ok, can only assume it has something to do with this solid orange light.

Have tried my sky box via wifi and ethernet directly into the router

I have a 75mb unlimited staff plan so speed shouldnt be an issue

Re: I have a solid orange broadband light on my bright box router.

Try switching the DNS settings in router to Manual with a public DNS:

Open DNS :	208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220
Google DNS:	8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4
Norton DNS:	198.153.192.40 & 198.153.194.40

That has been shown to help other Sky-Q issues.

@law00b1   Have you tried resetting the router?  There is a small hole on the router with the words reset next to it.  Push a pin in the hole and hold it there for 30+ seconds and this will reset the router.

Welcome to EE's Home Broadband Forum.

What does it say in the Internet section on the initial Status page of the BrightBox after you log in? Obscure your names in the BB Username but post the 1st 2 parts of the IP addy.

Re: I have a solid orange broadband light on my bright box router.

Hi Chris_B

Yes - tried resetting the router, have had the filters replaced several times, had a replacement bright box - to no avail. Previously just annoying having a rogue orange light on the router but as mentioned seems to be starting to impact certain services now

thanks though

Re: I have a solid orange broadband light on my bright box router.

Let me know the Internet Status as reported by the router & we can go from there.

Re: I have a solid orange broadband light on my bright box router.

Well, you are fully connected at full speed, so it must be a faulty LED. Solid Orange is not a state for the BB light

Broadband

Solid green

The router is functioning correctly, and is connected to broadband.

Flashing orange

The router is synchronising with broadband.

Red

The router can’t detect a broadband signal. Check that the grey broadband cable is connected to the DSL/fibre port.

Solid Green is the state it's in.

So your issue with the Sky Box must be something else which I'll now consider. I think I've seen it somewhere else.
