Home phone connection

My home phone and broadband was due to be connected today. My previous provider's broadband is still up and running, but the home phone is dead. I was trying to find some guidance on when the phone will be connected but can't find anything on the EE website except to say that they'll contact me when it's been done. I can't be without a home phone for too long as I have clients and dependent relatives who need to contact me. Many thanks for any guidance or advice - much appreciated.

This user discussion forum can have no access to your specific account. You will need to contact CS to find out what's happening.

Who was your previous ISP & phone provider? This may give some clue as to the route being taken for this migration?

Re: Home phone connection

No, it rarely happens. That's why I'm asking.

Re: Home phone connection

Sorry, I'm not so interested in your EE order status, which is obviously not progressing, but in your previous providers that I enquired about.

Re: Home phone connection

Ah OK. As I said, it's Sky. The mods have removed my previous post anyway!

Re: Home phone connection

Sorry, I missed it. With Sky being LLU more work than usual needs to be done at the exchange:

  1. Phone line moved from Sky BB kit to BT POTS kit.
  2. BB moved from Sky BB kit to BT BB kit.

Looks like they're in the middle of 1 & not touched 2.

The completion date you've been given can be done anytime up to midnight but I can't see it happening.

Re: Home phone connection

Leave it till tomorrow. They are still within delivery window. Step 1 completed :). Now for Step 2. Good to see that they are actively working on your line. Midnight could be achievable.

He was very helpful. My broadband is not yet working but hopefully it will be soon as Sky has now disconnected me. The home phone is fine.
