I connect to a system at home (from outside) that requires ports 1723 and 47. This has worked fine for a long time, but today I am unable to connect. It appears I can still reach port 1723 but not 47. Has there been any recent change to home broadband which is blocking port 47?

No, there has been no change. EE block no ports.
Which BB do you have? Which router?
Thank you for your reply. It seems to be an intermittent problem. The problem went away a few hours after I reported it. Today it's come back again. I've got the 38 Mbps fibre service with the Bright Box 2 router.
