Fibre broadband not working??

My fibre wifi broadband randomly stopped working... the lights on the hub went red, so I turned it off, waited 5 mins, forgot the network on my phone, then switched it back on.. 

I then reconnected to the Wi-Fi on my phone, it says it's connected but says, internet may not be available.

 

When I try to use my Samsung tablet, it says the same thing, as ij it will connect, but says internet may not be available, but if I then try to go to Google, it says, your connection is not be private...??!!

 

Can anyone help?? 

 

I've done the bt openreach thing, and there's no faults reported  in the area, I dont have a landline to check my phoneline, and i don't have anything that has an Ethernet socket in it to plug in directly! 

 

Of course I can call ee in the morning, but I'm a bit of a night owl and struggling to sleep, so hoping there's someone else out there awake that can maybe help?! Lol..

Which router? What colour are which lights now? 


What does it say after you log into the router:

  • For a BrightBox: in the Internet section on the initial Status page or
  • For a Smart Hub: on the Advanced Settings / Broadband / Internet page?

Obscure your names & numbers in the BB Username but post the 1st 2 parts of the IP addy. 

Does the phone work? Do you get a dial tone? Does it announce your correct no. when you dial 1470 17070?

Sorry for the delay, tried to write a reply while connected to wifi and i think it deleted the whole thing!!

The lights are teal/blue colour, which means it should be working?! 

 

I don't have a landline to test the line unfortunately... 

 

On the Samsung tablet it says,

Manage router - 192.168.1.254

 

But when I try to go to any webpage, it tells me that my connection is not private and that attackers might be trying to steal my information..???

 

Hope this means something to you cos it means nothing to me!

But my phone has different router numbers... I'm not sure if that's normal or not?!

 

My phone says, 

Connected then changes to...

Internet may not be available 

Network speed 685 mbps

Security - WPA2 ..

Sorry I didn't know what you meant and only just seen these msgs!! My phone signal and phone internet is so bad in my house...Which is why i got the broadband so as I could use my phone with Wi-Fi calling and the internet! 😕

I have no idea what I did, or if it will stay fixed... but I went into that advanced settings page, (that you told me to go into ages ago, but i didn't know what you meant) tried to do a test thing, and it said it has reset my router back to original settings, if I had changed username or passwords it will revert to original, and now its instantly working?! I never changed my username or passwords so I'm not sure as to why it decided to stop working!! 

 

Is it advised to change my passwords now? 

Does it mean someone was hacking my internet?!

Does it mean anything then, if, on that page, when i go to my network then my devices, that there are some on there that i don't recognise or that say unknown?!

Are they possibly dodgy??

I don't normally worry about things like that but cos my internet went down then kept telling me my connection wasn't safe and someone could be attacking my files etc .. I'm now a bit concerned?! Lol...Thanks!!
