Fibre Max New Install Using own Router

I am awaiting a new install of fibre max 1 and wanting to know what my best option is.Do i use their router and connect my netgear r7000 to their router or do i connect my router straight to the openeach modem?I am currently with virgin media and have the r7000 connected to their super hub which is switched to modem mode which allows me to use the r7000 and bypass virgins router functions. So is it a similar set up with this but just use the openreach modem?

Re: Fibre Max New Install Using own Router

You may do both but EE prefer you to use their own router in case you need to raise a BB issue with them.

Re: Fibre Max New Install Using own Router

@ChrisW45 : You should be able to connect your router to the OR G.Fast Modem.

In Home Broadband settings you'll find almost everything you need to set up your own router. What's missing for Fibre is:

  • VLAN ID = 101

Re: Fibre Max New Install Using own Router

So in that case the best solution would be to connect the r7000 to the EE provided router and have two routers  running
