Change router IP address

Just plugged in my EE broadband router and its IP address clashes with another router on my network (192.168.1.1), even though its allegedly dynamic.

I really don't want to change the other one; how can I change the IP of the EE router?

It would also be a good idea to change the router name - how do I do that?

Also, how do I change the admin password? There doesn't seem to be a way.

Thanks

Re: Change router IP address

You must have a BrightBox router. If so ...

Login to your Brightbox at http://192.168.1.1 as "admin" with the admin password on the label on the back of the router.

  1. Go to Advanced / DHCP & change the Gateway Addy so it doesn't clash. What is dynamic is your public external IP not your private LAN IPs.
  2. If you mean the name of your WiFi network(s) you can change the SSIDs under Advanced / Wireless Settings / SSID Management .
  3. Change the admin pwd under Advanced / System / Password Settings .
