Certain apps not loading via smart hub

Hi,

 

We have fibre and  a smart hub and the connection seems fine but certain apps will not load when connected to the smart hub.

 

They worked previously (Monday morning) but as of this afternoon they will no longer load. All the apps work via a mobile connection and the same fault can be seen on different devices so in my eyes that rules out the devices themselves and seems to point to the fibre connection.

 

I have reset all the devices and the smart hub with no change.

 

Any help is appreciated, thanks

So far, it has been, BBC Sport, Strava and a game that I play, so on the face of things all unrelated from each other.

Can you get to the BBC Sport and Strava sites thro' a browser? Can you run the app-like functions from them?

BBC Sport I can access via a browser but not Strava.

 

They all started working again briefly but have since stopped again.

Also having the same issues, I've got the 4Gsmart hub and can't connect to any amazonaws sites or get any resourses from it. It appears to be something on EE's side that's blocking the connection.

Can't see it would be an issue with fixed BB, but some temp problem with the apps or the servers they are talking to, esp. as it is intermittent.

 

But, @mewha, mobile BB would be a diff kettle of fish. Have you checked your Content Lock?

I’d normally agree but as there is no issue when using a mobile connection, then it is unlikely the apps or the servers hosting them.

Yep, content lock is off, when checking the network console in chrome I can just see on every file coming from AWS are all failing with ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED.

You could try & get round this issue by switching the DNS in the router to Manual with 1 of these public DNS:

OpenDNS   :	208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220
Google DNS:	8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4 
Cloudflare DNS 1.1.1.1 & 1.0.0.1 Norton DNS: 198.153.192.40 & 198.153.194.40

Same problem, spoken to Amazon and they have spoken to EE.

They have said theres an ‘outage’ at the moment!! 

Weird though can connect on phone and tablet??

Another report has come in concerning AWS whom I've been suspecting. Amazon provides Web services to Tom, **bleep** & Harry, thus making the issue so wide-ranging.
