Can you unblock TCP Port 445 on my home broadband account?

Hi there, I want to enquire as to weather you block TCP Port 445 on your broadband service? If so, how would I go about unblocking this? Thanks

Suggest you enable SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support in Windows Features. Win 10 started disabling this sometime in its life.

EE block no ports. Are you trying to connect a USB device to the router with Win 10?

Is the PC on Win 10? Is the drive USB connected to the PC?

Re: Can you unblock TCP Port 445 on my home broadband account?

I never said EE was involved in connecting a drive to a PC I’m saying some ISP’s block certain ports as part of their firewall settings by default. I’m ruling out EE now.

Why do you think EE BB is involved in connecting a drive to a PC?

If this is your local network then has nothing to do with EE, you would if your system was wide open, your isp can block the port to prevent anyone gaining access from remote location, but if just local network then they would not block this.

the issue is the configuration of your pc, check your firewall and network settings. if you are using dhcp then you don't usually need to make any changes, but you may need to enable netbios over tcp/ip.

You asked in your OP "whether you block TCP Port 445 on your broadband service?", taking the "you" as EE & asking about its BB..

I had every intention of answering your Q when you answered all my Qs as I had an idea of a solution but only if your situation fitted the bill.
