And how can I change the start date? I no longer require an appointment and I’m just waiting for the delivery.

Do you know that BB has already been laid on by EE to your home? The line may just have voice on it or nothing at all.
Once BB is activated you just plug the router in.
Did EE say you need an appointment? Usually no visit is necessary.
Does the phone work? Do you get a dial tone? Does it announce your correct no. when you dial 1470 17070?

No the line hasn’t been used for years and we un-plugged the landline phone from there, just want the bb hub not a phone there. The engineer was meant to come on the 21st to set up but the appointment has been cancelled because there is already a line there?
How can I change the date so that I can’t start sooner?

Ah, you already have a dormant line there. You sure it's a BT line & not Virgin Cable?
As long as it is a BT line an Openreach engineer will need to visit your exchange & local cab to join it up & reactivate it as well as connect the BB. They shouldn't need to visit your home.
These bookings are made by EE with OR well in advance & OR's slots are hard to get.

Ok but how do I go about starting sooner ? I originally chose a date so that someone was home for the engineer but now that’s not needed so how do I go about starting sooner ??

Well, you could try phoning EE and asking, but as they've already booked OR to come I'd doubt that they'll budge now.
