Cable connection for smart router?

Smart hub is due to arrive on Wednesday, but I'm running a dedicated socket for it, before it arrives, as the current master socket is in an awkward place.

Q. What is the supplied cable connection from the router into the bt socket?

Standard rj11, rj45 or phone jack?

Thanks in advance

Re: Cable connection for smart router?

RJ11, DSL or BB cable.

You are advised to take your BB from the master socket.

Re: Cable connection for smart router?

Thank you.

I was originally going to move the whole master socket to the new location and fit a new NTE 5C and MK4 VDSL faceplate there.

That would also require me to reroute a new cable through a wall to the existing phone point.

For simplicity, what I will likely do instead is use the new master on the existing backbox and just run a Cat 5E cable to the new BB only socket directly from the unfiltered connection on the back of the new faceplate.

That way my original socket remains untouched, but I can just run one cable to get the best connection at the router.

Cheers.
