Building a new house and need a phone line

I am in the process of building a new home in a rural location and expect to be moving in, in approx 6 months from now. The new house is set back approx 200 metres from the road, how do I go about having a new phoneline installed?

Can the cable go underground in the same trench as the power supply?

Any help would be much appreciated

Re: Building a new house and need a phone line

Are you wanting BB with it or just a landline?

Re: Building a new house and need a phone line

You'd best wait to order BB from an ISP nearer the time. BT Openreach will work out the route of the new landline.

Re: Building a new house and need a phone line

Thnk you for your reply, just thought that any cables could go underground at the same time as the power supply, which is going in next month. Would you know what the charges for a new landline might be?

Re: Building a new house and need a phone line

The standard connection charge for a new landline is normally £130. EE charge £30 for a new landline when you order BB from it. Some ISPs waive the fee when you order BB from them.

A new landline cannot be laid until you order it from a provider.
